Welcome to Week #2 of my journey as a fractional CFO and accounting consultant for small government contractors. This week, I wanted to reflect on a tool that has shaped much of my career and expertise: Deltek Costpoint.

As a Master Certified Deltek Costpoint accountant, I’ve spent countless hours navigating the ins and outs of this powerful ERP system. For those unfamiliar, Costpoint is more than just software; it’s the backbone for many government contractors, streamlining everything from compliance to financial management and reporting.

But like any tool, success with Costpoint doesn’t come from the software itself—it comes from knowing how to leverage it to support a contractor’s unique business needs. That’s where my passion lies: helping businesses not only use Costpoint but maximize its potential.

• Deep Diving into Certification: As I grew more familiar with Costpoint, I decided to pursue mastery. Becoming Master Certified not only expanded my knowledge but also taught me how to tailor the system for various business scenarios.

• Real-World Impact: Over the years, I’ve seen how Costpoint can make or break a contractor’s ability to manage DCAA compliance, streamline audits, and meet strict federal requirements. It’s incredibly rewarding to help businesses transform their processes using this tool.

Now, as I embark on this journey as a consultant, I’m excited to take my expertise to the next level. My goal is to not only be a resource for troubleshooting but also a strategic partner who can help businesses scale, improve margins, and navigate the complex world of government contracting.
